Weaver bird nests (photo: Njei, M.T)

The weaver birds are very resilient. In a country where many bird species are going extinct, weaver bird population is on the rise in Cameroon. These noisy birds (some yellow and others black)build their nests using in most instances leaves from useful plants like palm trees, banana plants etc. The palm tree in the photo is not only a host to the bird nests but has had to sacrifice its leaves for nest construction.
